COVID-19 Protocol

CASA SHATTUCK SENIOR CARE is taking proactive steps to address the Coronavirus pandemic. For the health, safety, and welfare of our residents, we are committed to the following actions:

General Visitation Guidelines:

1. Because Multnomah County remains in "Extreme risk" category, our facility is not able to accommodate indoor general visitation. Visitors will be screened 100% of essential individuals prior to entry into the building consistent with screening criteria. All employees, essential visitors, and re-entering residents will be screened at the entrance of the building.

Screening criteria includes identifying:

- Signs or symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat.

- Contact in the last 14 days with someone with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, or under investigation for COVID-19.

- Whether there has been international travel within the last 14 days to countries with sustained community transmission. For updated information please visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-air-travel.html

2. Except for emergency responders, we only allow two essential visitors per resident at a given time;

3. For essential visitors, limit their movement within the home to the resident’s room only; Limit touching environmental surfaces; Limit physical contact with resident; Avoid coming within 6 feet.

3. Employees, residents, and essential visitors are to wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

4. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with 60 percent to 95 percent alcohol.

5. PPE is required to be worn by all employees and visitors. We recommend employees and visitors to wear two masks in order to maximize protection. Residents are encouraged also to wear masks if they can tolerate them.

6. We are limiting external activities to our foster home and we will ask our residents and families to understand restriction of their outings.

Environmental Attention

1. Coronavirus is effectively killed with a disinfectant. Disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer are available in common areas.

2. Employees frequently clean major touchpoints, including doorknobs, handrails, elevator buttons, phones, keyboards, etc.

3. Residents will be asked to wash their hands before meals and after using the bathroom.

4. Staff will teach residents safety measures including not touching their eyes or mouth, sneezing and/or coughing inside of their clothes, and using hand sanitizer.

In-Person Tours: Not allowed currently. Virtual Tours are now recommended. A pre-sceening evaluation of the potential client will be sent before any virtual tour will be scheduled. We recommend to answer all questions in detail for a better evaluation of your loved-one. After we evaluate carefully your needs, we'll contact you to schedule a virtual tour. If you have any questions or concerns about the way are conducted our virtual tours, please use our section Contact.
